Equipping and supporting joyful Bible sharers
We exist to see local churches equipping, raising up and sending out joyful Bible sharers in every nation.
Our vision
The Word One to One exists to see the church equipping and sending out ‘joyful Bible sharers’ in every nation of the world. We do that by:
Equipping Christians to share God’s Word. Explore the books.
Resourcing leaders to mobilise their people in Bible sharing. See what we offer.
Developing a supportive community of Bible sharers and Bible-sharing churches around the world. Join the community.
Our heart
We believe that God’s Word is supremely powerful, and that it works in extraordinary ways in the hearts of those who read it together.
That’s why everything we do is about helping everyday believers joyfully share it with others, so that they might see its power in action.
“We believe that God’s Word offers an opportunity for everyone to encounter Jesus for themselves. The Word One to One presents it in an accessible, easy-to-use and relaxed format, so that non-believers can explore the claims of Jesus with their Christian friends.”
Richard Borgonon, Founder and Author of The Word One to One
Our story
The Word One to One began in London in 2006. After a surprising encounter with a city contact, London businessman Richard Borgonon realised the need for an accessible resource to help people discover for themselves what the Bible actually says.
The Word One to One notes were created to address this need. Originally written by Richard Borgonon and William Taylor, the notes provide John’s Gospel in an accessible format alongside helpful, easy-to-use notes, meaning any Christian can share God’s Word with those around them.
As more people began using the resource and interest spread through church networks and online connections, a core team was brought together to support this growing community of Bible sharers and expand it further across the UK and the world.
Today, more people are discovering the joy of sharing God’s Word with their friends than ever before. In 2021, we launched new, improved versions of the books to make them relevant and accessible to as many people as possible. In 2023, we released the free Word One to One app, and in 2024 the printed Acts series became available.
Our team remains dedicated to supporting, training and encouraging Christians and churches around the world as they share God’s Word.
In the video below, Richard Borgonon and Professor John Lennox reflect on the moment that Richard was inspired to share the Bible with those around him.
